DESVIX 1.3 - Closer to Reality

DESVIX 1.3 is our largest visual update so far. It introduces Real-Time Path Tracing alongside improvements to lighting, reflections, imported geometry, material mapping, architectural presentation, and the built-in asset library. Together, these changes make projects feel more natural, immersive, and easier to understand.

Real-Time Path Tracing

The centerpiece of DESVIX 1.3 is a new Real-Time Path Tracing mode. It simulates how light behaves in the real world while preserving the interactive environment of DESVIX.

- New custom engine

- Added support for Real-Time Path Tracing
- More natural shadows, reflections, and indirect illumination
- More realistic response from materials and surfaces
- Improved perception of proportions, depth, and atmosphere
- Available while exploring projects in the shared DESVIX environment

Improved lighting and reflections

Lighting and reflective surfaces now respond more naturally to their surroundings. These improvements make both interior and exterior scenes more believable and easier to evaluate.

- Improved natural and indirect lighting
- Improved reflections on glass, metals, polished floors, and other reflective surfaces
- Improved the appearance of transparent and glossy materials
- Improved lighting and reflection stability across different scenes

Smooth Shading for imported geometry

Imported models now appear cleaner and more refined. Smooth Shading reduces visible artifacts and creates more natural transitions across surfaces without requiring additional model editing.

- Added Smooth Shading for imported geometry
- Reduced visible faceting and shading artifacts
- Improved shading transitions across curved surfaces

Triplanar material mapping

The new Triplanar Mapping system makes applying materials to complex geometry easier and more reliable, including models without properly prepared UV mapping.

- Added Triplanar Material Mapping
- Added automatic texture projection across multiple axes
- Reduced texture stretching and distortion on complex geometry
- Improved material mapping on models without prepared UV coordinates

Improved rendering capabilities

DESVIX 1.3 introduces new tools for creating cleaner and more professional architectural visuals directly from your project.

- Added 2-point perspective with parallel vertical lines
- Improved image rendering qualityAdded render tiling to process high-resolution images in smaller sections
- Improved rendering stability on lower-end devices
- Added tiled rendering for 360° panoramas
- Completely redesigned the 360° panorama viewer
- Improved the speed, stability, quality, and output resolution of 360° panoramas

New props in the asset library

The built-in asset library has been expanded with new child characters, helping communicate the use and atmosphere of family-oriented and public spaces.

- New child characters added to the DESVIX library
- New hanging plants withotu pots added to the DESVIX library

DESVIX 1.2 - Built for Stability

Version 1.2 focuses heavily on performance and system improvements. While it doesn’t introduce major new features, it significantly enhances what’s already there.Behind the scenes, we refined and, in many cases, completely redesigned core processes to make the platform faster, more stable, and more secure. This update lays a stronger technical foundation for everything that comes next.

Stability, security and speed

In particular, there has been a dramatic increase in stability and speed when opening and using projects. All systems related to project loading have been redesigned—from models to embedded textures and greensketch elements.

- Reworked technology for project opening
- Improved security for data stored in the cloud
- Better utilization of the computer’s VRAM – including support for weaker devices
- Accelerated data transfer between Revit and DESVIX live scene via cloud transfer
- Cache system for textures during loading – optimized work with materials integrated in DESVIX or your own

Improved file import and new .glTF 2.0 format

Imported files are a core feature of DESVIX. In this update, we’ve redesigned the import pipeline and introduced support for the modern binary glTF (.glb) format. This new format enables more complex and data-rich models, unlocking expanded possibilities within DESVIX.

- New binary glTF (.glb) import option
- Datasmith 5.7 for the latest versions of commonly used programs (ArchiCAD, Rhino, etc.)
- Greensketch vegetation converted to .glb format and textures integrated into desvix for the basic tree category – this allows for significantly faster loading
- Revit export using add-ins is many times faster. At the same time, it transfers textures more reliably
- Redesigned FBX workflow for better handling of FBX files

Nvidia DLSS 4 support to boost your frames

We’ve added support for NVIDIA DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) to improve rendering performance and stability.
DLSS uses AI to render frames at a lower internal resolution and then upscale them to a higher quality image. This significantly increases frame rates while maintaining sharp visual fidelity. The result is smoother performance, especially in complex or large scenes.

- You can enable DLSS in Graphical Settings
- Choose from several presets:
Quality – Prioritizes image clarity with a moderate performance boost
Balanced – A mix of visual quality and performance
Performance – Maximizes FPS for demanding scenes
Ultra Performance – Maximizes FPS for huge and demanding scenes or lowest hardware

This gives you more control over how DESVIX performs on your hardware. We have partially implemented this functionality and want to expand it in the future.

General improvements

Another strong aspect of the update is the strengthening of the project’s supporting framework with newer technology:
- UE engine transition to 5.7
- Improved 360 panorama paths not only for multiplayer work. Now, the panorama path is saved to the cloud even if it is not exported and the project is closed. This allows you to prepare the panorama path, close the project, and continue again or export it to another device.
- Fixed issue during sudden termination of installation and subsequent need to restart PC
- Improved logic for quick switching between projects
- Various stabilization and optimization improvements

DESVIX 1.1

As the jump to version 1.1 suggests, this is a major milestone. We are moving out of beta, rebranding under our new name Desvix and refreshing the visuals to match our vision. But that’s just the beginning—this release also marks the launch of our new platform and a migration to a new cloud infrastructure for a more secure, scalable, and faster experience. Let’s dive into the details.

Rebranding - meet DESVIX

Introducing our new name and refreshed visual identity:

- New branding & colour palette
- New favicon at the bottom of the Windows bar and display in Task Manager under the correct name
- Easy uninstallation in Control Panel
